GMC’s AT4 lineup is built for drivers who need more than a smooth highway ride. If you’re hauling a boat to the lake, pulling a trailer to the job site, or navigating gravel roads and rough terrain, the AT4 badge signals a truck or SUV that’s ready for it. The 2026 lineup spans the Acadia AT4 for families who need three rows and off-road capability, the Sierra 1500 AT4 for full-size truck buyers who want trail-ready features, and the Sierra HD AT4 for serious towing and payload demands.

Base Trim: Acadia AT4
The Acadia AT4 is built for families who need three rows of seating and the ability to handle gravel roads, cottage trails, and winter conditions. Starting at $65,333, it’s the most affordable entry point into the AT4 lineup. Power comes from a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Active Torque Control AWD.
The AT4 trim includes lifted ride height, off-road-tuned suspension, underbody skid plates, and all-terrain tires. The suspension balances on-road comfort with off-road capability, absorbing washboard gravel roads without the harsh ride of a dedicated off-road truck. Skid plates protect the front and underbody from rocks and trail debris.
The Acadia AT4 offers up to seven drive modes, including a Terrain Mode for off-road conditions. The system adjusts throttle response, transmission shift points, and traction control based on the selected mode. Towing capacity is rated at 2,268 kg (5,000 lb), enough for a mid-size boat, utility trailer, or small camper.
Mid-Range: Sierra 1500 AT4
The Sierra 1500 AT4 starts at $89,033 with the 3.0-litre Duramax Turbo-Diesel I6 engine or $91,483 with the 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8. Both engines pair with a ten-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. The diesel engine prioritizes fuel economy and towing efficiency, while the V8 delivers more immediate throttle response and higher peak power.
The Sierra 1500 AT4 includes a two-speed Autotrac transfer case, off-road suspension with Rancho twin-tube shocks, underbody skid plates, and 20-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels with available BFGoodrich off-road tires. The Rancho shocks absorb impacts from rocks, ruts, and uneven terrain better than standard shocks.
Towing capacity is rated at 4,082 kg (9,000 lb), covering most boat trailers, fifth-wheel campers, and equipment trailers. The MultiPro Tailgate is standard and includes six configurations – it folds into a step for bed access, a standing workstation, or a load stop for long cargo.
Top Trim: Sierra 1500 AT4X
The Sierra 1500 AT4X starts at $105,200 with the 3.0-litre Duramax Turbo-Diesel I6 or $108,140 with the 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8. The AT4X includes a 1.5-inch factory lift and Multimatic DSSV (Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve) dampers, a significant upgrade over the Rancho shocks on the base AT4. The DSSV dampers adjust damping force based on suspension position and speed – this gives the AT4X better control over rough terrain, sharper handling on pavement, and less body roll in corners.
The factory lift increases ground clearance and improves approach and departure angles for climbing over rocks or descending steep trails. The AT4X includes the same towing capacity as the base AT4 – 4,082 kg (9,000 lb) – and the same MultiPro Tailgate. The difference is in the suspension and off-road capability.
Top Trim: Sierra 2500 HD AT4 and AT4X
The Sierra 2500 HD AT4 starts at $100,833 and is available with a 6.6-litre Gas V8 or a 6.6-litre Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8. The gas engine produces 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the diesel produces 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the better choice for buyers who tow heavy trailers regularly – the 975 lb-ft of torque delivers better pulling power at low RPM and better fuel economy under load.
The Sierra 2500 HD AT4 includes off-road suspension with Rancho shocks, underbody skid plates, and 20-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels. The suspension is tuned for heavy-duty work and absorbs impacts from rough terrain while maintaining stability under heavy loads.
The Sierra 2500 HD AT4X starts at $117,033 and includes Multimatic DSSV dampers, a factory lift, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires. The DSSV dampers are tuned for the heavier weight and higher payload capacity of the 2500 HD. The factory lift increases ground clearance and improves approach and departure angles for off-road work.
The AT4X AEV Edition is a $10,930 package that adds stamped-steel front and rear bumpers, AEV Salta wheels, and additional skid plates. The stamped-steel bumpers are more durable than standard bumpers and provide better protection for off-road work.
